What's New
Discover — public editorial landing page
SkinAtlas now has a public face. The Discover page is an editorial-style landing that shows live platform stats, a featured ingredient of the day, recently added products, and curated "Learn something new" cards linking to the ingredient library — all without requiring sign-in. Designed to feel like a skincare magazine, not a SaaS landing page.
Journal redesign — skin events and progressive disclosure
The daily journal is now a lot more expressive. You can tag skin events alongside your score — Beach Day, High Stress, Illness, New Product, Menstrual Cycle, and more — so your log has context, not just a number. The entry form shows the essentials first and reveals the notes field when you need it. Rating labels (Poor → Great) appear as you move the slider so the scale always feels meaningful.
Routines redesign — timeline, AM/PM tabs, and streak tracking
The Routines page was rebuilt from scratch. Products now appear in a step-by-step timeline with application order, and you can switch between AM and PM with a tab. A completion bar tracks how consistently you've been following each routine. Reordering got keyboard support (Alt+↑/↓) alongside the existing drag arrows. Conflict warnings are still there, now more visible.
Homepage redesign — smart shelves and AI insight card
The home dashboard was redesigned with a personal welcome card, animated platform stats, smart product shelves (Recently Used, Running Low, Best Performing), a routine summary tile, and an AI Copilot insight card that surfaces one observation from your recent journal data. The UV index, humidity, and pollen count card uses your location to show today's skin conditions.
How it works — interactive walkthrough
A new /how-it-works page walks through what SkinAtlas does with an interactive tab demo: Collection, Journal, Routines, Insights, and the AI Copilot. Each section shows a live-looking preview so you can understand the feature before using it.
Collection — curated shelves and renamed route
The product library is now called the Collection (was Products) and the route moved to /collection. Products are organised into smart shelves — Recently Added, Running Low, Best Performing, Finished, and Wishlist — with scroll buttons for longer rows. Add to routine and mark as finished directly from the shelf.
Smart product search with URL ingestion
Paste a product URL from any retailer and SkinAtlas extracts the name, brand, and ingredient list automatically. No more copying and pasting INCI lists by hand. The search bar now detects whether you're typing a name or a URL and switches modes on its own.
Ingredient breakdown — Key / Supporting tab switcher
The ingredient list on product pages now has a Key actives / Supporting tab switcher in addition to the existing tiered layout. Switch to Key to see just the actives; Supporting shows the functional layer below. The long tail of emollients and humectants collapses by default so you can focus on what matters.
Skin observation — photo-based analysis
Upload a close-up photo and get a plain-English description of your skin's visible traits: texture, oiliness or dryness, congestion, and tone. Results are AI-generated and not a medical assessment. Every account gets 2 free observations.
Public routine sharing
You can now share your AM/PM routine with anyone via a link at /r/your-handle. Visitors see your routine, key active ingredients, and your skin type tag without needing to sign in. You can delete the link at any time from the Routines page.
Product images across the catalog
Every product in the catalog now shows a clean product shot — no lifestyle photos, no hands holding bottles, just the product itself so you can actually see what you're looking at.
Guest collection — use without an account
You can now search products and build a collection before signing in. It saves in your browser automatically. When you do sign in, your existing shelf merges into your account. No data lost, no pressure to commit.
Free tier and usage limits
Usage limits are now live: 5 AI Copilot questions per day on free, 3 correlation insights per account, and 2 skin observations. These let the app stay fully free to explore while covering the cost of AI calls for heavy users. A Pro tier is coming.
Community ingredient verdicts
On ingredient pages, you can now see how other SkinAtlas users with similar skin types rated that ingredient — what percentage found it positive, neutral, or irritating. The first real signal from collective experience, not just published research.
Icon system — custom SVG set
Every emoji icon across the app has been replaced with a consistent set of custom SVG icons. The icon style is softer and more intentional than off-the-shelf libraries — designed to match the SkinAtlas aesthetic rather than look like a generic productivity app.
Cookie policy and expanded legal pages
A full cookie policy page is now available at /cookies, covering what's stored, why, and how to clear it. The medical disclaimer and privacy policy were also expanded to disclose location data use (for the conditions card) and the Open-Meteo weather API.
