In depth
What it does
An extract from Laminaria saccharina (sugar kelp), a brown seaweed rich in polysaccharides and minerals, used for hydration and skin conditioning. Distinct from the Laminaria japonica and Laminaria ochroleuca species already in the KB. As an humectant ingredient, it is particularly valued for polysaccharide-rich seaweed extract that supports hydration and skin conditioning and soothing benefits.
Skin type guide
Works across all skin types, but is especially beneficial for dry and dehydrated skin. Oily skin types also benefit — proper hydration helps regulate sebum production.
How to use it
Apply to slightly damp skin to maximise moisture retention — humectants work by drawing water to the skin, so they need a water source to pull from. Use early in your routine, before heavier creams or oils.
