Antioxidant ingredient
Saccharomyces/Caragana Sinica Root Ferment Extract
Produced by fermenting the root of Caragana sinica (Chinese pea shrub, Fabaceae) with Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. The root contains flavonols (quercetin, rutin), catechins, and stilbene derivatives including alpha-viniferin with potent tyrosinase inhibition. Fermentation enhances polyphenol bioavailability and inhibitory potency versus the raw extract. Used in K-beauty snail/repair creams as a supporting brightening antioxidant.

Benefits
- ✓Neutralizes free radicals via flavonoid antioxidants (quercetin, rutin, and stilbene derivatives), protecting skin from oxidative stress and premature aging
- ✓Inhibits tyrosinase and suppresses melanin production; key active alpha-viniferin shows potent tyrosinase inhibition — estimated ~35× the whitening potency of arbutin against MSH-induced melanogenesis
- ✓Fermentation with Saccharomyces cerevisiae enhances tyrosinase inhibition above the unfermented extract by increasing polyphenol bioavailability
