The dipalmitoyl ester of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). An oil-soluble vitamin C derivative with improved stability vs. pure ascorbic acid. Penetrates lipid-rich skin layers. Used in Lululun's Hydra EX mask.
A stable, water-soluble vitamin C derivative that converts to ascorbic acid in skin. Gentler and more shelf-stable than pure L-ascorbic acid.
A fat-soluble ester of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and palmitic acid used as an antioxidant in cosmetics to protect against oxidative damage and extend formula shelf life.
An oil-soluble, highly stable vitamin C derivative that penetrates well and converts to ascorbic acid in skin. The vitamin C active in Melano CC.
An extract from the leaves/stems of Aspalathus linearis (rooibos/red bush), native to South Africa. One of the richest natural sources of aspalathin, a powerful and unique C-glucosyl dihydrochalcone antioxidant, alongside quercetin and other flavonoids.
An extract from asparagus (Asparagus officinalis) containing flavonoids, saponins, and other phytochemicals used for antioxidant and skin-conditioning properties.
A red-orange carotenoid pigment derived primarily from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis; notable for its exceptional antioxidant capacity and ability to protect against photo-oxidative damage.
An extract from the roots of Astragalus membranaceus (huang qi / Chinese astragalus), a key traditional Chinese medicine herb; the hero active in Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner, prized for its antioxidant saponins and skin-conditioning polysaccharides.
A synthetic phenolic antioxidant that prevents oxidation of oils and fats in cosmetic formulas, used at very low concentrations.
Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/Stem Extract is derived from the leaves and stems of common bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris). The extract is rich in phenolic antioxidants (ferulic acid, flavonoids, hydroxycinnamic acids) and silica. Bamboo silica is often cited in connection with skin elasticity and collagen support, though rigorous topical clinical data is limited. Used in Korean and Japanese skincare as an antioxidant botanical with toning and skin-conditioning properties.
An extract from the fruit of the baobab tree rich in polyphenols, vitamin C, and polysaccharides, used for antioxidant protection and skin conditioning.
An extract from red beet roots rich in betalain antioxidant pigments (betacyanins and betaxanthins) used to protect skin from oxidative stress.
A carotenoid pigment found in carrots, algae, and other plants. Functions as an antioxidant and as provitamin A (converts to retinol in the body). In skincare, also used as a colorant and antioxidant booster.
Extract from the bark and leaves of Betula alba (white birch), providing betulin and betulinic acid alongside flavonoid antioxidants.
A probiotic-derived ferment lysate that supports the skin barrier and protects against oxidative stress.
An extract from the leaves of the bilberry plant (Vaccinium myrtillus) rich in anthocyanins and polyphenols that provides antioxidant, astringent, and anti-inflammatory skin benefits.
A broad class of plant polyphenols (typically citrus-derived hesperidin, rutin, and diosmin) used in cosmetics for antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and vascular-strengthening properties.
Oil pressed from the seeds of Bixa orellana (annatto / achiote). Exceptionally rich in bixin and tocotrienols (vitamin E analogues with strong antioxidant activity). Used in prestige K-beauty serums for its antioxidant and nourishing properties.
An extract from the lowbush blueberry (Vaccinium angustifolium) fruit rich in anthocyanins, flavonoids, and vitamin C that provides antioxidant protection and skin-soothing benefits.
A leaf extract of kale (Brassica oleracea var. acephala) rich in polyphenols, vitamins A, C, and K, and glucosinolates that deliver antioxidant and skin-conditioning benefits.
An extract from the leaves of Brassica oleracea var. capitata (common cabbage), a cruciferous vegetable rich in polyphenols, vitamins, and glucosinolates, used for antioxidant and soothing properties; distinct from kale (var. acephala) and other Brassica oleracea varieties.
An extract from broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica) florets or whole plant, valued in cosmetics for its sulforaphane and glucosinolate content that provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Extract from sprouted Brassica oleracea italica (broccoli). Broccoli sprouts contain 20–50× more glucoraphanin than mature broccoli, making this extract significantly more antioxidant-active than standard broccoli extract.
Extract from Buddleja davidii (butterfly bush / summer lilac); its high verbascoside content provides strong antioxidant and photoprotective activity, widely used in natural anti-aging formulas.
