Gleditsia Australis Thorn Extract is sourced from the thorns of the honey locust tree (Gleditsia sinensis/australis), long used in traditional Korean and Chinese medicine as Zao Jiao Ci (皂角刺) for skin-clearing and anti-inflammatory purposes. The extract is rich in triterpenoid saponins, flavonoids, and alkaloids that contribute to its calming, clarifying, and sebum-modulating effects.
The aglycone of glycyrrhizinic acid — the bioactive form after hydrolysis of licorice root compounds. Has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and barrier-supporting properties. Used in Rosette's clay cleanser and Meishoku's facial wash for soothing.
Extract from the leaves of Glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice). Contains flavonoids and other polyphenols with soothing and antioxidant effects. Distinct from the root extract (which contains glycyrrhizin/glycyrrhetinic acid); the leaf has a different and less concentrated phytochemical profile.
An extract from the root of Glycyrrhiza uralensis (Chinese licorice), a species distinct from G. glabra (western licorice), containing glycyrrhizin, glycyrrhetinic acid, and flavonoids with anti-inflammatory and brightening effects.

Helichrysum arenarium (sand everlasting / dwarf everlasting) extract is derived from a flowering Asteraceae plant native to Europe and Central Asia, distinct from H. italicum (immortelle). Its unique phytochemicals — arenariumosides I–IV (species-specific TNF-alpha inhibitors), isosalipurposide (dominant chalcone), and flavones (apigenin, galangin, kaempferol) — deliver potent anti-inflammatory activity comparable to indomethacin in vivo, antioxidant and UV photoprotection, and documented anti-sebum effects (EU CosIng REF 34242, CAS 85665-35-6). A protected species in some European countries; verify sustainably sourced material.
